Texas Music Office - Established: 1990 The Texas Music Office is a state-funded business promotion and information clearinghouse for the state's growing music industry. We publish the annual Texas Music Industry Directory, now 448 pages. We assist more than 14,000 individual clients each year, ranging from a new band trying to make statewide business contacts, to BBC journalists seeking information on Down South hip hop. We try to make it easy (or easier) to do music business in Texas by researching our state's music industry, then publishing our research (both online and in print), distributing it to 13,000 bands / businesses, and then assisting clients with their individual projects. We are the sister office to the Texas Film Commission, and are part of the Office of the Governor.
